6th European Individual Womens Chess Championship (Chisinau, Moldavien)

Kateryna Lahno from Ukraine is the new European Champion 2005

From 11^th to 24th^th June the 6th European Individual Womens Championship took place in Chisinau (Moldavien). 164 participants from 31 federations fought for the very popular title.

Tie-break matches

A tie-break match consisting of two games (15 minutes + 10 seconds per move) was played by Lahno Kateryna (UKR) and Kosintseva Nadezhda (RUS). Lahno Kateryna wins 2:0, so she won the title of European Champion 2005.

Tie-break matches were also played for the 3-6 places. The bronze medallist became Dembo Yelena (GRE).
