6th European Individual Womens Chess Championship (Chisinau, Moldavien)

Kateryna Lahno from Ukraine is the new European Champion 2005

From 11th to 24thth June the 6th European Individual Womens Championship took place in Chisinau (Moldavien). 164 participants from 31 federations fought for the very popular title.

Tie-break matches

A tie-break match consisting of two games (15 minutes + 10 seconds per move) was played by Lahno Kateryna (UKR) and Kosintseva Nadezhda (RUS). Lahno Kateryna wins 2:0, so she won the title of European Champion 2005.

Tie-break matches were also played for the 3-6 places. The bronze medallist became Dembo Yelena (GRE).
